This report compares the need for child care to its supply in 13 economically challenged urban communities. Funded in part by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, this research shows that within these communities, the supply of licensed and regulated child care falls far short of the demand, and even if the supply were adequate, the cost of such care is far too expensive for many parents |
